RIVO 2100 This strategy takes its cue from the flood bypass to counter the threat of peak discharges from the Rijn and Waal rivers for the coming hundred years. This “Green river” is located on the lowest parts of the River delta and expected to fill completely every 20 to 40 years with excess water from the rivers. The river system offers new potentials for land use, large scaled nature, diverse aspects of watermanagment, new fronts for urban develpments and typical Dutch horizons.
