Ithaka's Secret Garden
Ithaka goes to show that thorough and timely collaboration between client, architect and landscape designer can lead to an increase in quality on all fronts. The form of the building complex now ensures an optimal delimitation of the landscape. This enables the realisation of what many consider to be the ultimate residential dream: a large manorial estate with a grand view. Because of the effect of three consecutive green spaces - landscape garden, canal and Cascadepark – the design makes for a majestic spatial experience. The highlight of the landscape garden is an Olympic-size ecological swimming pond which residents are able to reach barefoot. The secret garden is publicly accessible during the day and thus provides a site for encounters between residents and those living nearby.
